The NFL's new league year is officially a week old, and the [New England Patriots](https://nesn.com/new-england-patriots) have done a solid job of boosting their roster. However, they should consider trading for a few more players to strengthen their team.
New England could benefit from adding another wide receiver, even though it signed Romeo Doubs, and it could use more depth on the offensive line. Here are two players the Patriots should consider trading for.
Marvin Mims Jr., Wide Receiver, Denver Broncos
----------------------------------------------
The Denver Broncos made a significant trade on Tuesday, sending a 2026 first-round pick, a third-round pick and a fourth-round pick to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and a 2026 fourth-round pick.
With Waddle landing in Denver, the Broncos could be looking to trade one of their receivers, and Marvin Mims Jr. could be looking for a new home.
Mims is entering his fourth NFL season and has appeared in the Pro Bowl twice, in 2023 and 2024, thanks to his exceptional skills as a return specialist. Yet, he also has the potential to be a serious deep threat for quarterback Drake Maye, as he possesses elite speed and has accumulated over 1,202 yards and eight touchdowns across 48 games.
It likely wouldn’t cost much for the Patriots to trade for him, probably just a Day 3 pick, since he isn't a top-tier player and is heading into the final year of his contract.
Zak Zinter, Guard, Cleveland Browns
-----------------------------------
The Cleveland Browns selected Zinter in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he hasn't made a significant impact in his first two seasons. While Zinter has only started three games, he has appeared in 22. A change of scenery might be beneficial for him.
This offseason, Cleveland brought in a handful of offensive linemen, signing guards Zion Johnson and Elgton Jenkins and re-signing Teven Jenkins. Additionally, the Browns hold nine picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, which could allow them to add more offensive linemen. This situation could leave Zinter looking for a new opportunity.
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel coached Zinter in 2024, when he was on the Browns' coaching staff. This connection between the two might give Vrabel an edge in bringing Zinter to New England, potentially through a late draft pick.
