Maxx Crosby is in a tough situation after a disappointing season and an offseason which saw him endure much drama. The Las Vegas Raiders defensive end failed to inspire his team on the field, with a dismal 3-14 record and missing the playoffs.
He was traded to the Baltimore Ravens, but that deal fell apart in one of the most shocking things in recent NFL history. Now, he has come out to speak on the situation.
Maxx Crosby speaks about Ravens treatment before failed trade
The Ravens had agreed to trade for Crosby in return for two first-round draft picks in the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts going to the Raiders. However, they backed out of it after the player failed the physical at their medical facility. It was due to concerns over his recovery from a torn meniscus in his knee which required surgery in January.

As all trades are contingent on the player passing a physical, the Ravens had the contractual right to void the agreement. Hours after the failed trade, the franchise instead acquired Trey Hendrickson on a four-year, $112 million contract. Many felt that they were targeting Hendrickson all along, and used the excuse of the physical to prevent acquiring Crosby. Crosby’s agent has also said that the player is expected to recover in time for the next season.
Crosby now remains with the Raiders, with his future looking set to be with them. He has now talked about the situation regarding the failed trade. He revealed that Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta did not welcome him and family when they arrived at their facilities, and that he avoided meeting him for five hours. He said, “I thought I was going to see DeCosta when I first got there. I don’t know why. I’m not going to speculate. He just made the trade, and I didn’t see him for five hours.”
Fans did not like how Crosby was treated by the Ravens and DeCosta, and demanded consequences for the franchise. Many attacked them on social media.
