The Golden State Warriors witnessed Stephen Curry having a potentially scary moment when a fan grabbed his arm while walking to the back. Golden State suffered a 120-99 loss to the Boston Celtics for another terrible road loss. However, the most memorable moment of the one-sided loss came when Curry was leaving the court and heading to the locker room.

Video emerged of Curry’s arm being grabbed longer by one fan and security instantly stepping in. Other fans from the game revealed that the person in question was escorted out of the building for crossing the line. Fans are not allowed to touch players beyond reaching out for a high five, and that only happens if the player is the one initiating it.
Curry clearly looked confused and surprised at someone holding onto his arm as he was trying to walk away. The moment didn’t look dangerous, but it clearly showed that Curry wasn’t comfortable with the exchange. Some fans felt the NBA overreacted and could have just provided a warning. However, Curry’s safety is most important in this situation and this incident reminded fans not to touch players at live games.
Curry Already Had A Bad Night Before This
Boston had a strong lead over Golden State from the first quarter and never looked back in the dominant victory. The Warriors continue to struggle without Curry and Jimmy Butler, as their two top stars getting hurt has essentially killed their season goals of contending for an NBA Championship.
Tonight’s loss dropped Golden State to tenth in the Western Conference to fall behind the Portland Trail Blazers for a new low this season. The Los Angeles Clippers have already passed the Warriors and will likely hold that ninth seed if Kawhi Leonard remains healthy for the rest of the season.
Golden State falling behind Portland makes their path to the playoffs even tougher. Curry still hopes to return, but the Warriors will be in a terrible spot of likely having to win two play-in games to reach the postseason. The tense moment for Curry came after seeing his team fall to a new low point.
Will Curry Return To Warriors This Season?
The most recent update for Curry showed that he is likely to return this season before March ends. Curry hopes to give the Warriors an outside chance of making the playoffs from the play-in race, but he has other motives too.
A hope for improvement next season sees Curry wanting Golden State to at least have one series for the young talents to get postseason experience. Young names like Brandin Podziemski and Gui Santos have stepped up in Curry’s absence to show their potential could help the team in upcoming seasons.
Time will tell if Golden State has any chance of making the playoffs since the odds are against them. Curry should be back soon, but tonight’s controversial moment reminded the NBA world of his star power. A fan got lost in the moment of seeing an iconic NBA superstar and got kicked out for it.
