Tom Brady does not care that he’s 48 years old and three years removed from his NFL career.
Brady firmly believes he’s still the best quarterback. The seven-time Super Bowl champion is ready to remind Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels of just that.
On Tuesday, Brady visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the upcoming Fanatics Flag Football Classic.
“I lost the last game I played against the Cowboys to Dak Prescott,” Brady said, referencing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 31-14 loss to Dallas in the NFC Wild Card in January 2023. “Now, I get to go out on the field on Saturday in L.A. [on] 4 p.m. EST. It’s on FOX. I get to compete again.”
Brady said he’s been watching the younger guys play in the NFL as a FOX play-by-play announcer the past two seasons, but “now, I get to go out there and try to kick their butt once again and remind them who the boss is.”
“I texted Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels,” Brady added. “They’re the opposing quarterbacks. I said, ‘You know, I love beating Heisman Trophy winners.’ I was the 199th pick, and I always took dead aim at the guys who were picked way ahead of me. They said, ‘Talk that you-know-what and bring it on.'”
The inaugural Fanatics Flag Football Classic will take place at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday, beginning at 4 p.m. EST. The event will air live on FOX Sports, FOX One, and Tubi, and it will stream on Fanatics’ YouTube channel.
The Fanatics Flag Football Classic features three teams. Two are comprised of NFL stars - Founders FFC and Wildcats FFC - and the other is the U.S. men’s national flag football team.
Brady and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts are Founders FFC captains. Burrow and Daniels are Wildcats FFC captains. Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton will serve as the Founders FFC coach, while Wildcats FFC will be coached by San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Famed streamer IShowSpeed, influencer Logan Paul, and former boxer Terence Crawford will also play.
