Robert Parish sends message to LeBron James closing in on NBA ironman record

The Lakers superstar is now a few games away from breaking Parish's 1,611 games played.

Robert Parish held the NBA's all-time record for the most regular-season games played for nearly 30 years. As such, he can't wait to finally pass the baton to LeBron James.

On SiriusXM NBA Radio, the Boston Celtics great offered proud words to James as the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is poised to surpass him on the leaderboard.

"I'm happy for him, and I'm proud too, because no player is better deserving to break that ironman record, that 1,611 games played record, than LeBron," the Hall of Famer said.

"He deserves it, in my opinion. So, hell yes."
