A look at the early injury news surrounding Everton and Chelsea ahead of their Premier League clash.

Chelsea are back in action on Saturday when they take on Everton, resuming their bid to land Champions League football for next season. The Blues saw their most recent Champions League campaign come to an end this week after a poor performance against PSG in Tuesday’s second leg.

Chelsea are currently three points behind the top four, while Everton come into this one two points off the top seven, hoping to land a Conference League spot. Here we round up the early injury news surrounding both sides.

Jack Grealish - Out

Grealish is out for the season. He wrote on social media after his injury: “Didn’t want the season to end like this, but that’s football, gutted. Surgery done and now all focus on getting back fit. I know for sure I will come back fitter, stronger and better than before.”

Tyrique George - Out (ineligible)

George is unable to play against Chelsea.

Charly Alcaraz - Doubt

Alcaraz is a doubt as he looks to return from an injury suffered in late February.

Jarrab Branthwaite - Doubt

Branthwaite could return here, but he will be assessed through the week.

James Tarkowski - Doubt

It’s an almost identical situation with Tarkowski.

Filip Jorgensen - Out

Jorgensen was injured in the first leg against PSG and will be out until April.

Reece James - Out

Rosenior has said: “With Reece, he felt something in his hamstring at end of the [NUFC] game. We don’t know the full extent of that just yet but it rules him out of tomorrow’s game. It could be [a few weeks]. With a hamstring injury, it’s never great. Hopefully, we can get him scanned, find out the extent.” An April return is likely.

Benoit Badiashile - Doubt

Badiashile has been battling illness but should return here.

Malo Gusto - Doubt

It’s the same situation for Gusto.

Trevoh Chalobah - Out

Chalobah was injured against PSG and will be out for at least a few weeks with an ankle injury.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens - Doubt

Rosenior has saidrecently : “Jamie was due back on the bench today but felt his hamstring late after training yesterday, so we're just checking up on him.” The winger could well return here.

Levi Colwill - Out

In his latest update, Rosenior has said: “If you look at our squad now, Levi is back in modified training.” The defender is on course to return this season, but it won’t be yet.

Mykhailo Mudryk - Out (Suspended)

Mudryk is suspended. A club statement in the summer read: “We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of Regulations 3 and 4 of The FA's Anti-Doping Regulations. As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time.” Mudryk is not included in the final count due to the nature of his absence.
