Report: Chelsea ready to sign£39m star after meeting with his agent last month

Chelsea already look as if they are going to have to spend big again this summer in order to remain competitive with the top sides in the Premier League, and are ready to offer big money for one talented young player.

The Blues spent big on the likes of Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap and Alejandro Garnacho last summer, although none of them have had the impact the club would have liked.

Left-wing in particular has been a weak point for Chelsea since Liam Rosenior took over the club. Enzo Fernandez has featured there on occasion, taking away from his ability to contribute in his natural position.

Chelsea ready to sign Said El Mala

This is potentially why the Blues are being strongly linked with signing German winger Said El Mala.

According to KSTA, Chelsea are ready to offer £39m plus bonuses to sign the winger, potentially beating fellow Premier League side Brighton to the deal.

El Mala’s brother, Malek, is reportedly going to be part of the deal, although he is expected to move to the club for the U21s if the deal comes off.

He is not the only winger the Blues are being strongly linked with signing at the end of the season. Morgan Rogers has cropped up on their radar again after previous ambitions to bring him in.

Despite the fact the Aston Villa man would offer immediate Premier League experience, Chelsea’s record of signing inexperienced players suggests that El Mala is more likely to be on their radar.

Do you think Chelsea should sack Liam Rosenior? Or are you willing to give him more time?🤔

Who is Said El Mala?

Despite not being the biggest name, El Mala has enjoyed a very strong campaign in the Bundesliga for Koln.

He has nine goals and four assists to his name in the league this season, doing all of that in just over 1300 minutes for the campaign.

He is on the radar of Julian Nagelsmann for the German national team, with him no doubt having an eye on an outside call up for the 2026 World Cup.

There will of course be Chelsea fans hoping the club begin to target some bigger names, with them feeling like they are falling away from the elite sides across Europe.
