Luka Doncic said a trash-talking Houston Rockets heckler who started chirping in the first quarter after his missed shots quickly went quiet after the star replied in English, making sure "he understood it." Luka finished with 40 points in the Lakers' win.
Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers look unstoppable right now, extending their winning streak to seven games with a 124-116 victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.
Doncic delivered another spectacular performance, finishing with 40 points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists in nearly 38 minutes on the floor.
The Slovenian star was also fueled by a trash-talking Rockets fan early in the game.
"I don't know. Some guy was talking crazy, showing me his… Never mind," Luka said, stopping himself before explaining the fan's gestures.
When asked what he told the heckler to quiet him down, Doncic smiled.
"Off the camera. It was in English. I made sure he understood it."
He later clarified that the interaction began very early in the game.
"It was in the first quarter after I missed like the first four shots. Then he started talking, and I heard him. So, it was in the first quarter."
Luka is continuing to build a strong MVP-caliber campaign, averaging 33.0 points, 8.5 assists, and 7.9 rebounds per game this season.
With the victory, the Lakers improved to 44-25 and are third in the Western Conference standings.
"This is just the start of something beautiful," Doncic said confidently.
