Arsenal still have a shot at winning the quadruple, as they compete in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, and also are nine points clear of Man City at the top of the Premier League table.

Mikel Arteta will have been delighted to see both Declan Rice and Eberechi Eze score on Tuesday night, the latter has struggled to find regular minutes with competition from Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Mikel Merino this season.

Rice says Eberechi Eze is “frightening”

After the game, Rice was very complimentary of his teammate Eze after he scored a simply sublime goal to make it 1-0 at the Emirates on Tuesday. The England star has struggled to find consistent form for Arsenal this season.

Rice said that Arsenal need to make sure they get Eze into the right areas because he can be a “frightening” player at times.

He told TNT Sports: “He’s got one of the best shots I’ve seen, left foot and right foot. We need to keep getting him in those areas because, honestly, he’s frightening.

“Around the edge of the box, left foot and right foot, there are not many players I’ve seen hit the ball better than him. We need to keep giving him the ball around the edge because he can make things happen.”

Eze will hope that his performance against Bayer Leverkusen will be enough to convince Arteta to start him against Man City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday at Wembley for the first piece of silverware of the season.
