Opta supercomputer makes Arsenal Champions League favourites

The supercomputer at data-boffins Opta has predicted there will be a first-time Champions League winner this season.

As the competition reaches the quarter-finals, Arsenal have been made favourites to win the Champions League for the first time in their history. The Gunners will take on another non-winner in the quarter-finals, in Sporting Lisbon, who have reached the last eight for the first time since 1983.

As a result, Arsenal are calculated as a 29.73% chance to win the 2026 Champions League by Opta. That’s comfortably clear of Bayern Munich, who are regarded as second-favourites with a 18.33% probability.

Liverpool, who face holders Paris Saint-Germain in a tough quarter-final tie, are considered only sixth favourites for the trophy at just 7.12%.
