Chelsea teenager tops Premier League 2 charts after six goals in a row

It is becoming increasingly difficult for the Chelsea senior staff to ignore Shim Mheuka, with the 18-year-old striker now boasting a remarkable six-game scoring streak in Premier League 2.

BlueCo’s policy has seen a wide range of promising young players make their way to Chelsea, including Estevao Willian, who has more than proven his worth already.

However, there are still exciting English talents coming up through the academy after seeing Reece James’ rise to captain at Stamford Bridge.

Reggie Watson, Shim Mheuka and Reggie Walsh are a few names.

Mheuka is the one name that will be most familiar to Chelsea fans, given his appearances for the first team already this season. And he continues to knock on the door for more appearances.

Do you think Chelsea should sack Liam Rosenior? Or are you willing to give him more time?🤔

Shim Mheuka continues to shine for Chelsea

The 18-year-old currently tops the Premier League 2 scoring charts with 16 goals in just 15 starts, including scoring in six consecutive games.

Beyond his 21 total goals across all academy levels, Mheuka’s rare physical maturity has seen him integrated into the senior setup. With eight first-team appearances already to his name, he remains the most persistent threat knocking on Liam Rosenior’s door for a permanent role.

Mheuka has even leaned on the experience of Reece James. He captains the youth side, so perhaps we have another future leader on our hands at Chelsea.

It’s time to bin the five-year plan, Todd 😡

Joe Cole is absolutely right.

Shim Mheuka isn’t the only promising Chelsea talent

Beyond Shim Mheuka, Chelsea’s Vision 2030 project is producing a generation of technically elite talents increasingly ready for senior exposure.

Reggie Walsh remains the standout. The 17-year-old midfielder has already made history as the club’s youngest European starter and is frequently described as Liam Rosenior’s favourite academy prospect.

On the flanks, Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and Jesse Derry offer excitement, with Derry recently making his professional debut after arriving from Crystal Palace.

With the likes of Ibrahim Rabbaj and Landon Emenalo also dominating the youth ranks, Cobham continues to provide players for the future.
