The race for an "incredible" Real Madrid star is starting to heat up, and Liverpool have now moved into pole position.
Reds book place in Champions League quarter-finals
Heading to Anfield on a European night is always a daunting task, and it proved to be too much for Galatasaray to handle, with the Reds running out 4-0 winners on Wednesday night, booking their place in the quarter-finals courtesy of a 4-1 aggregate victory.
Having been given the nod at right-back for the 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the last Premier League match, Dominik Szoboszlai was moved back into midfield for the Champions League second leg, and the Hungarian put in a top performance, scoring the opening goal.

However, not all of Arne Slot's midfielders have impressed quite as much as Szoboszlai this season, with Jamie Carragher taking aim at Alexis Mac Allister after the disappointing draw against Spurs at Anfield.
Nordsjaelland midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi was named as a new target for the Merseysiders amid criticism of Mac Allister, but a more established Champions League star is also on the shortlist...
"Incredible" star at centre of Premier League transfer battle
Earlier this week, it was revealed Liverpool were in the picture to sign Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga, with the Spanish club now willing to sanction a summer departure, and there has since been a further development in their pursuit of the midfielder.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Reds are now leading the race to sign Camavinga, despite widespread interest from within the Premier League, with Chelsea and Manchester United also opening initial talks.
Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga
All three clubs have been in contact with the Frenchman's agents, but Slot's side are out in front, even though he would be interested in a move to London, should a Champions League club make an approach.
There are indications the France international, who has made ten Champions League appearances this season, could be capable of making a real impact for the Reds from a defensive point of view, having been lauded as "incredible defensively" by podcast host Kiyan Sobhani.
The 23-year-old is averaging 4.0 tackles per 90 in La Liga this season, which is more than any other Real Madrid player, and a higher number than any Liverpool player has managed in the Premier League.
As such, Camavinga could be a fantastic signing, and Liverpool should undoubtedly pursue a move this summer, but they may have to spend big on wages, given that the Real Madrid star currently rakes in £208k-a-week.
