Indianapolis Colts legend T.Y. Hilton officially retired from the NFL on March 18, 2026. The star wide receiver spent 10 seasons in Indianapolis before a short stint with the Dallas Cowboys.
Hilton announced his decision through a post on social media. He leaves the game as one of the most productive players in Colts history.
“I am officially retiring from the NFL,” Hiltonwrote. He thanked the Colts organization and owner Jim Irsay for the opportunity to play.

Hilton joined the league as a 3rd round pick in 2012. He quickly became a favorite target for quarterback Andrew Luck. He earned 4 straight Pro Bowl selections from 2014 to 2017.
In 2016, Hilton led the entire NFL with 1,448 receiving yards. He finished his career with 638 catches and 9,812 yards. He also scored 53 touchdowns during his professional career.

These numbers rank him 3rd in franchise history for both catches and yards. He trails only Hall of Fame players Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne.
Hilton was famous for his speed and big plays. In a 2013 playoff game, he recorded 224 receiving yards against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Now, Hilton is moving into coaching. He recentlyaccepted the head coaching job at Miami Springs High School. This is the same school where he played as a teenager.
“It has been an incredible journey,” Hilton stated in his retirement message. He added that he will be “Forever a Colt” as he starts this new chapter.
Fans in Indianapolis will always remember his signature “T-Y” hand signal. The team has not yet announced plans for a formal retirement ceremony at the stadium.
Hilton remains a beloved figure in Indiana. His transition to coaching high school football keeps him close to the game he loves.
