NFL Draft 2026: New York Jets hosting 45-touchdown RB for top-30 visit

The New York Jets used the franchise tag on Breece Hall, but might not be done adding to the backfield this offseason once the NFL Draft gets underway.

While trading for Geno Smith to pair with Hall could telegraph new offensive coordinator Frank Reich plans on deploying a run-based scheme in Florham Park, this fall, the Jets could look to secure the future of the backfield during the midle-rounds of the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.

Penn State running back Nick Singleton’s pre-draft season was derailed by a foot injury he suffered during practice leading up to the Senior Bowl, but that hasn’t stopped the Nittany Lions’ all-time touchdown leader from making an impression on teams across the league.

One of those teams, is apparently the New York Jets, who Singleton revealed Wednesday will be hosting him for a top-30 pre-draft visit in the days ahead.

Across four seasons in Happy Valley, Singleton rushed for 3,461 yards, despite splitting carries through the entirety of his collegiate career with Kaytron Allen.

Singleton, though, left his mark on the Nittany Lions record book by scoring a program-record 54 total touchdowns, including nine receiving scores.

An explosive runner with the blend of speed and elusiveness that offensive coordinators covet, Singleton could be an ideal complement to Hall in Reich’s system, and eventually emerge as the Jets’ feature back of the future.

Selecting Singleton would also reunite the 6-foot and 224-pound running back with former Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu, who is entering his third NFL season after being chosen in the first round by the Jets back in 2024.
