Even though Tom Brady no longer plays quarterback in the NFL, he has remained a prominent figure as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and an analyst for Fox. Now, he has gone viral for his recent interaction with Washington Commanders star quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Daniels, who is coming off of a brutal 2025 NFL season that saw him only play in seven games due to multiple injuries, has become one of the most popular young players in the league. Ahead of the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, Brady and Daniels had a hilarious run-in.

Brady took a moment to roast Daniels.

“I haven’t seen Jayden on the field in 7 or 8 months,” Brady said. “I’m just happy his mom let him play.”

Of course, the joke is referring to how much time Daniels missed in 2025. He dealt with a knee injury early in the season before suffering a gruesome left elbow dislocation later in the year.

Washington Commanders Hoping Jayden Daniels Gets Back on Track

When Daniels is healthy, the Commanders are a legitimate threat in the NFC. That can be seen from the team’s shocking run to the NFC Championship Game two years ago when Daniels was just a rookie.

During that rookie campaign, Daniels threw for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns, and just nine interceptions, while completing 69 percent of his passes. He also carved up defenses on the ground to the tune of 891 yards and six more scores.

Last season in just seven games, Daniels completed 60.6 percent of his passes for 1,262 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions, while running for 278 yards and two touchdowns.

Fans will be excited to see Daniels back on an NFL field. As for Brady, he’s excited to be watching the young signal caller playing flag football.

Fanatics CEO Thinks Tom Brady Could Still Dominate NFL

Even though Brady hasn’t taken a snap since the 2022 NFL season, there are still some who think he could be among the league’s best quarterbacks if he chose to return.

One of those believers is none other than Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin.

“I believe that today he would be a top quarterback in the NFL if he wanted to play,” Rubin said. “He’s still at an elite level.”

That said, Brady isn’t going to be returning to the NFL. He is focused on his roles with the Raiders and Fox. Brady is also preparing to likely welcome Indiana standout quarterback Fernando Mendoza to Las Vegas with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Brady will likely take an active role in helping the Raiders develop Mendoza. That endeavor alone will be extremely important for the future of the Las Vegas franchise.
