Chelsea star may not actually be injured despite missing the last two games

Chelsea have been missing some key players in the last couple of games, however a report has now cast doubt that one individual actually has the injury Liam Rosenior is claiming he does.

Blues captain Reece James will have been hurting as he was forced to watch his side from the bench as they were destroyed by PSG in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg.

He joined Wesley Fofana and Jamie Gittens on the list of players unable to feature at Stamford Bridge, while Filip Jorgensen was also absent.

Joe Cole is absolutely right.

Filip Jorgensen might not actually be injured

The Dane has not been in the matchday squad since his nightmare outing in Paris, with Rosenior stating that he was struggling with a minor injury.

However, Simon Phillips has claimed that he has been told the goalkeeper is not injured, and instead being protected by his manager after his nightmare in Paris.

He said on his Substack: “As for Filip Jorgensen, our top source has heard that he had a scan but there was nothing found, or at least nothing serious found. So it’s a bit puzzling.

“It was actually suggested to us yesterday that Jorgensen was not even injured and he was in fact just being taken out of the firing line! So I checked that out with my top source, and the above is what he came back with. I’ll let you all make of that as you will…. Hmmm.”

Enzo Fernandez showed his frustration at Jorgensen during the 5-2 loss in the first leg, and he summed up exactly how Chelsea fans were feeling too.

Chelsea need to part ways with Jorgensen

After just a few games as the starting goalkeeper, Jorgensen has again been dropped for Robert Sanchez.

It has become clear that he is not good enough to ever become the number one at Stamford Bridge, and the Blues should look to cash in at the end of the season.

Reports from January stated that Jorgensen was open to leaving the club in order to become first choice goalkeeper somewhere else.

With promising youngster Mike Penders on the way to the first team squad next season, it really feels as if Jorgensen’s time is up in West London.
