Terry Rozier is expected to be waived by the Miami Heat in the coming weeks as he remains away from the team following his October arrest. With Rozier unlikely to return this season, Miami is planning to open a roster spot to add depth ahead of the playoffs.
Terry Rozier is still officially on the Miami Heat roster, but his time with the team appears to be coming to an end.

According to the Miami Herald, the Heat are expected to waive the veteran guard in the coming weeks as they look to open a roster spot ahead of the playoffs.
Rozier has been away from the team since late October following his arrest on Oct. 23 as part of a federal investigation into illegal gambling. He is not expected to return this season.
With Rozier still counting against the roster, Miami currently sits at the NBA limit with 15 standard contracts and three two-way players. Waiving him would allow the team to bring in an additional player to strengthen depth for the postseason.

Financially, the move is manageable. The Heat can release Rozier and sign a replacement without crossing the luxury tax line. The guard is earning $26.6 million this season and will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Rozier's time with Miami was extremely short. He only appeared in the season opener before the situation unfolded the following day.
Over his NBA career, Rozier has played 665 games, averaging 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, while shooting 41.8 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from three-point range.
