Coventry boss Frank Lampard would love to sign the former England under-21 international permanently, but faces fierce competition.
Brighton are believed to value Rushworth in the region of £20million and could also opt to keep him.
The 24-year-old's contract with the Seagulls currently has one year remaining.
Rushworth joined Brighton aged 17 in 2019 and has since had loan spells with Worthing, Walsall, Lincoln City, Swansea City and Hull City.

It is with Lampard's side that he has excelled this season, though, playing every minute of their Championship campaign.
As well as conceding just 40 goals in his 38 league appearances, Rushworth also provided an assist in last month's win over Middlesbrough.

Meanwhile, his recent performance in a 2-0 victory at Bristol City saw him tipped for a future England call-up by his manager.
After the match, Lampard was asked if international football is a reasonable target for Rushworth.
The Sky Blues boss told reporters: "Yes, for sure. I mean, without telling any England manager what to do…
"I know Jordan Pickford who I worked with (at Everton), and is an incredible goalkeeper, and the goalkeepers are around him.

"But Rushy, just to isolate him, he’s got absolutely the talent to be able to play for his country, in my opinion.
"He just needs to keep working, but the levels he’s playing at are really, really good, and he’s been a big signing for us."
talkSPORT revealed earlier this season that Rushworth was being eyed for a potential Three Lions call-up.
Thomas Tuchel will name his squad for the upcoming friendlies against Uruguay and Japan on Friday.
Rushworth previously won the Under-21 Euros in 2023 as part of Lee Carsley's side.
However, he won just one cap for the Young Lions, which came on the eve of the tournament.

Instead, he was forced to watch on as an understudy to first-choice stopper James Trafford.
Rushworth could have his hands on a trophy once again this season as Coventry close in on a return to the Premier League.
