Fact check: Arizona's Bryce James entering 2026 NBA Draft in viral post

Bryce James hasn't played a single minute for the Arizona Wildcats this season. This prompted the son of NBA great LeBron James to redshirt and start again during the 2026-27 season in Tucson. However, one fake viral post on social media had some believing he was on his way to the NBA.

Shane Tuttle put the falsehood out into the universe before the start of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.

"BREAKING: Arizona G Bryce James will forego the NCAA Tournament to prepare for the 2026 NBA Draft," the post read. "The freshman guard averages 0.0 PPG and is currently mocked to the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2nd round."

The last part was a shot at Bronny James, who was drafted by the Lakers in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. While he will forgo the tourney, his draft decision hasn't been made public. James is eligible to enter the league, but it's not in his best interest.

As for Arizona, the No. 1 seed in the West Region will try to snap a over two-decade streak without a title. This is the Wildcats best shot in the Tommy Lloyd era and could put them in a Final Four fight to the finish.
