The Chicago Bears finished with an 11-6 record last season. Chicago won the NFC North title, but they lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round in overtime. The Bears have a chance to be very good once again in 2026, but they need to fix things on the defensive side of the football.

Chicago has been addressing the offensive line this offseason. They also traded away wide receiver D.J. Moore to the Buffalo Bills. The Bears will have the 25th overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. Who will they potentially draft?

Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports has the Bears selecting Clemson Tigers defensive tackle Peter Woods. Fornelli said, “The Bears began overhauling their defense this offseason and could target any number of players here. One of the biggest problems this unit had last year was stopping the run, and Woods should help there while also offering the potential to collapse the pocket against the pass.” Woods is 6’3″ and weighs 315 lbs.

He would no doubt be a steal for Chicago at the 25th overall pick. Woods has been predicted to go higher in the NFL Draft. Last season with Clemson, he recorded 30 tackles, two sacks, and one pass deflection. If Woods falls to the Bears, he will be in a good spot to potentially succeed in the NFL. There is a lot of talent on the defensive line in the 2026 NFL Draft here.
