Jaylen Brown Took Unique Step To Know Celtics Teammates Better

Jaylen Brown went the extra mile to serve as a better leader for the Boston Celtics.

Brown guided Boston to a 120-99 victory over the Golden State Warriors with 32 points, six rebounds and five assists. Following Wednesday's win, per Celtics Blog's Noa Dalzell, the 29-year-old discussed some off-court preparation he undertook to help understand his teammates.

"I've learned a lot about each and every one of our guys," Brown said. "Like even down to astrology. Even down to everything. I learned communication styles that work best for each individual and started utilizing them when I speak to each and every guy.

"I didn't know it would work before the season started, but that stuff definitely works."

Brown, a Scorpio, memorized each player's Western and Chinese zodiac signs. He also studied numerology, which derives meanings from numbers, particularly someone's birth date.

The All-Star listed some of the team's signs, noting that Jayson Tatum is a Pisces and a Tiger. Brown said some friends who are proponents of astrology recommended this approach.

Whether these efforts have directly assisted or not, Celtics fans may not want to argue with the results. They're second in the Eastern Conference at 46-23 behind Brown's career-high 28.5 points per game.

"Everybody has a different kind of makeup of who they are and how they approach things," Brown explained. "And if you learn a little bit about each person, what makes them tick, you can kind of learn more about how to maximize potential. All that type of stuff added up over the course of the season. And here we are."
