Chelsea told to sign three'world-class'players, Liam Rosenior cannot rely on Joao Pedro

Chelsea are expected to be busy in the summer window once again and Scott Minto has urged Todd Boehly to make three “world-class” signings to make Chelsea title challengers, again.

The humbling defeat on Tuesday night has left Chelsea nursing their wounds, but Liam Rosenior will have to galvanise a side full of hurt egos to go again against Everton on Saturday, in the race for the top five.

Whether Chelsea qualify for the Champions League or not, will directly affect their transfer plans in the summer. If they do qualify for the elite competition, Todd Boehly will be able to attract the best players.

Certainly, that is what former Chelsea player Scott Minto believes is needed at Stamford Bridge in the coming months. He feels Chelsea are three top signings away from challenging for the league title again.

Scott Minto orders three “world-class” signings at Chelsea

Speaking on TalkSPORT this week, Minto says that Chelsea need three players right at the top of their game to challenge with the likes of Arsenal and Man City. A goalkeeper, defender and a striker.

He goes on to say that while Joao Pedro has been “fantastic”, it would be unfair to rely on the Brazilian throughout. Indeed, Minto also claims that he does not believe Todd Boehly will alter his transfer tactic.

“I don’t think Chelsea are a million miles away. I think they’re only three players away. But those three players are absolutely crucial. The goalkeeper, centre-half, and a centre-forward,” Minto explains.

“Joao Pedro has done fantastically well this season, but you can’t rely on one person. You need an option off the bench. If you get senior pros,” Minto continued, discussing Chelsea’s squad as it currently stands.

“A world-class goalkeeper, a world-class centre-half and a world-class centre-forward, I genuinely think Chelsea are not that far away. But it does look like the ownership model are going to go 100% youth.”

Joe Cole has made it clear, Todd Boehly must change

Now almost four years into a plan that was to sign the world’s best young players, and either develop them or sell them for a bigger price, Chelsea are no better than when Boehly took over in 2022.

It’s time to bin the five-year plan, Todd 😡

Joe Cole is absolutely right.

Speaking before the loss to PSG, Joe Cole went on a rant. He explained that Chelsea are now almost 80% of the way through Boehly’s plan and asked, at what stage does Boehly realise things need to change?

Ultimately, Chelsea are struggling at the moment because they lack leaders. That has been exacerbated by injuries to Reece James and Levi Colwill, failing to ever replace the loss of Thiago Silva in 2024.
