The Philadelphia Eagles’ Pro Bowl kicker, Jake Elliott, has struggled over the past two seasons, converting just 76.2% of his field goal attempts. He is coming off a disappointing 2025 campaign, missing the second-most field goals of his career while posting the second-lowest field goal percentage. Elliott made 20 of 27 field goals (74.1%) and went 41 of 42 on extra points in the regular season. He also converted both field goals in the Wild Card and went one of two on extra points, including a costly miss in the first quarter.
Given his recent struggles, Elliott was considered a potential cap casualty. He is scheduled to earn $6 million in cash, including $4.45 million guaranteed, and a $4.65 million option bonus due September 1, while carrying a $4.89 million cap charge. If the Eagles cut him, it would be in June, allowing his $10.91 million in dead cap to split into 2027, losing $2 million in cap space in the process.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network,Jake Elliott agreed to a $1 million pay reduction while guaranteeing all of his salary for 2026, creating $240,000 in cap space. As a result, the Pro Bowler’s cash value drops from $6 million to a fully guaranteed $5 million, while his $1.3 million base salary remains unchanged and his $4.89 million cap hit decreases to $4.65 million, per Over The Cap.
