Milwaukee Bucks: Three Teams That Giannis Antetokounmpo Could Potentially Be Traded Too

The Milwaukee Bucks 2025-2026 NBA season has been a season to forget. They have a 28-40 record this season and are on the verge of missing the playoffs. Milwaukee maybe tasked with an uncomfortable decision as the offseason approaches.

Should they keep Giannis Antetokounmpo or trade him and start a major rebuild? He has been dealt with major injuries this season. Shams Charania said on Twitter on Wednesday, "The Milwaukee Bucks want Giannis Antetokounmpo to shut down for the remainder of the season after his latest injury and the team's playoff chances dwindled, but Antetokounmpo has refused the team's requests and wants to play again, sources tell ESPN."

He is currently dealing with a knee injury. With 14 games remaining in the regular season, it makes no sense for the Bucks to play him. It is understandable why Giannis would want too someway somehow return this season, but this does not make sense for either party. With the latest disagreement, what are the odds he could be traded this offseason, and which three teams could trade for him?

The Miami Heat Could Be a Major Player for Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Miami Heat have not been the same team over the last couple of years. Miami has been floating with the play-in tournament yearly. The had Jimmy Butler on the team a couple of years ago before they traded him to the Golden State Warriors. They haven't had a superstar like presence since Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh.

The Heat have been monitoring the situation with Antetokounmpo closely. However, what assets do they have to give Milwaukee for a potential rebuild? The superstar this season in 36 games this season has averaged 27.6 PPG, 9.8 RPG, and 5.4 APG. He has also shot 62.4% from the field. Antetokounmpo is also 31 years old.

New York Knicks

Having Antetokounmpo play at Madison Square Garden for the rest of his NBA career would be something for New York Knicks fans. They have been knocking on the door for the last couple of years. If the Knicks fall short of reaching the NBA Finals this spring, there is no doubt that they are going to kick the tires on a potential Giannis trade.

It would be interesting to see what the Knicks would potentially give up in a trade in order to get him. New York might be one piece away from winning an NBA Championship.

Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets have the young talent and the draft picks to give the Bucks in a potential Antetokounmpo trade. Houston is a contending team in the Western Conference. They were the number two seed last year and could very well be a top four seed once again this year.

If the Rockets do not get to the NBA Finals this season, Houston may look to trade for Giannis to pair with Kevin Durant. The question for them is are they willing to be patient with young players or do they want to go all-in? This is something that Rockets management is going to have to decide.

Some other teams to potentially watch out for in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes will be the Los Angeles Lakers, the San Antonio Spurs, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is going to be a story to watch out for this summer for the Bucks superstar.
