Golden State Warriors: Latest NBA Mock Draft Has Them Finding Draymond Green Replacement

The Golden State Warriors have a 33-36 record this season in the NBA and they are going to need to think about life without Draymond Green and Steph Curry at some point. After the 2025-2026 NBA season concludes, Green has a player-option for the 2026-2027 NBA season.

If he decides not to accept it, then he will become a free agent. Green is 36 years old. He has won four NBA titles with Golden State in his NBA career. During the 2025-2026 NBA season, he is averaging 8.6 PPG, 5.6 RPG, and 5.3 APG, along with shooting 41.5% from the field.

Even if Green does accept his player option for next season, there is no question that Golden State will look to draft his replacement anyways. Which player could the Warriors potentially select in the first-round of the 2026 NBA Draft?

Alex Golden of si.com created his latest 2026 NBA Mock Draft. He has the Warriors selecting 12th in the latest 2026 NBA Mock Draft. Golden has Golden State selecting forward Thomas Haugh from the Florida Gators. Haugh's college teammate, Will Richard, is also on the Warriors.

Golden said about Golden State potentially drafting Haugh 12th overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, "His game translates to winning, something we saw during Florida's 2025 NCAA Tournament championship run. He does many things well but doesn't necessarily dominate in one specific area. He's somewhat of a tweener between the power forward and center positions, and adjusting to the speed of the NBA game may take time. Still, he is a smart player who consistently executes the fundamental aspects of basketball. His ceiling may not be as high as some prospects, but his floor could be among the safest in the back half of the lottery."

Haugh played a huge role in Florida's national title run last season and he has helped the Gators get the number one seed in March Madness for the second consecutive season.

Haugh this season with Florida has played in 32 games. He is averaging 17.1 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 2.0 APG, along with shooting 46.1% from the field.

He is 6'9" and weighs 215 lbs. Haugh has shown tremendous improvement and growth this season. He is the championship kind of player that head coach Steve Kerr and the Warriors franchise is looking for in the future.
