New Eagles WR sends clear message to AJ Brown amid uncertain future

The AJ Brown saga might be coming to an end after the Philadelphia Eagles reportedly decided not to trade the wide receiver. The New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams were still in the race for the Brown until last week, but the discussions will have to wait at least for a couple of months.

Meanwhile, the Eagles added a veteran NFL wide receiver on a one-year deal. Hollywood Brown arrived after spending four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaking on his teammate, AJ Brown, the 28-year-old receiver didn’t mince words about the possibility of teaming up with one of the best in the game.

“We talked about it. Of course, I want AJ there,” Hollywood Brown said when asked whether the trade chatter influenced his decision. “You want to be surrounded by great players, and he’s a great player. And his last name is Brown. I want him there.

“But at the end of the day, me understanding that it’s a business, he’s got to do what he’s got to do. Whatever he feels that’s best for him. But, for me, I’m coming in and I’m trying to make plays. Whoever’s in the building, we’re going to get it right, and that’s all I’m trying to do.”

Hollywood Brown said he still has a lot to prove, and perhaps a change of scenery could help him. Still, it remains to be seen what type of offense the Eagles have in 2026.

After the Rams ruled themselves out of the AJ Brown trade race, new details about the NFC West team’s pursuit of the veteran surfaced. Sean McVay’s team reportedly studied the possibility of trading Davante Adams to make space for Brown.

The Patriots remain the only team with a chance to land Brown. The receiver grew up supporting the team, and he could live a full-circle moment if the teams come to an agreement in the coming months.
