Julian Edelman shared his thoughts on the Packers wide receivers.
If former New England Patriots wide receiver and Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman managed to add more smoke to the rampant A.J. Brown trade rumors with a single tweet on Thursday.
With the smart money on the Philadelphia Eagles not trading Brown, a 3-time NFL All-Pro wide receiver, until after June 1 because of the dead cap implications, that doesn’t preclude them from coming to an agreement with another team before then.
The Patriots and Brown’s former head coach on the Tennessee Titans, Mike Vrabel, seem to be the most logical destination.
Edelman posted a GIF of himself on his official X account interviewing Brown for his podcast with the words “WE ARE ALL PATRIOTS” superimposed — what Edelman appears to say in the GIF — and Brown responding with a sly wink.
If it all seems a little too cute and a little too corny and cheesy, that’s understandable. For Brown and Edelman, it’s kind of par for the course. Why do things in a professional manner when you can be weird and childish about it, right? Anything for attention in this case.
It was all part of a bizarre week in which Brown disclosed he cried watching the Patriots lose to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII in 1 of the greatest upsets in sports history. The Patriots were trying to close out just the 2nd undefeated season in NFL history.
Brown, who is from Starkville, Mississippi, would have been just 10 years old when the game was played.
“I cried all night, man,” Brown said.
