When the Denver Broncos swung a trade for Miami Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle, the reception was rather warm.
Denver needed another weapon for Bo Nix, and Courtland Sutton needed help in the passing game.
Well, Waddle ticks both boxes for Sean Payton's team. But Waddle was signed to be a key player in the offense, right?
Well, according to him, that might not be the case.
"I don't think there are No. 1s, everyone is here to make plays and try to win," he said via the team's official transcript on NFL.com. "That's ultimately the goal for the team and for the organization."

Waddle has to be key part of offense
Waddle is right to an extent. The Broncos might not view their weapons as No. 1's, but there is no doubt Waddle and Sutton will command a lot of the targets.
Given what the Broncos gave up to get Jaylen, they aren't going to give him two or three targets a game, are they? They want him to be a key piece of what they are doing offensively.
But with Waddle coming to town, Sutton gets some much-needed help, and Nix has two quality receivers to pick apart a defense with.
It won't matter who calls themselves the No. 1 weapon, because both will likely get ample targets regardless in 2026.
