The Premier League have announced who will officiate Chelsea’s next Premier League game against Everton, and the Blues do not have a strong record with him in charge.
In a week where Chelsea have learnt they should have had a penalty against Arsenal, there will be more eyes than normal on the performance of the referee in Blues games.
There were no complaints on Wednesday night though when they were dumped out of the Champions League at the hands of PSG, seeing all their eggs go back into the domestic basket for the rest of the season.

Liam Rosenior’s side are looking to get back on track in the league with their first trip to the Hill Dickinson stadium, and the Premier League have declared that Sam Barrott will be tasked with being in charge of the game.

Tim Wood and Wade Smith will be the assistants, while Paul Howard will be in charge of VAR, a system which has caused more than enough controversy in games involving Chelsea so far this season.
Rosenior will have felt hard done by when a Leeds goal against them wasn’t disallowed for handball in the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca has bad memories of Sam Barrott
Enzo Maresca’s final game in charge of Chelsea was a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, where Chelsea fans were left unhappy with a number of decisions made by Barrott.
One of those included a controversial yellow card for Moises Caicedo, who now walks a tightrope on a two-game suspension if he gets booked again.
The Blues also tasted defeat against Fulham at Stamford Bridge with Barrott officiating. Their only other league meeting with this official was a victory against West Ham at the London Stadium.
Rosenior is starting to feel the heat from Chelsea fans following recent results, and will be hoping Maresca’s fate back in December is not something which follows him into the next game.
