It appears the [Minnesota Vikings](https://www.sportingnews.com/uk/nfl/minnesota-vikings) want their quarterback room to be one of their strengths in 2026.
With J.J. McCarthy and Kyler Murray, the Vikings have now added Carson Wentz back to the room as the veteran re-signed on a one-year deal, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
That gives Kevin O'Connell two veterans for McCarthy to not only learn from, but to battle for the starting role.
Wentz was 2-3 in his five games last season before a shoulder injury ended his season.
Now, McCarthy has another fight on his hands this offseason.

McCarthy facing huge offseason
------------------------------
While it appears J.J. is in direct competition with Murray for the starting QB role, you can't discount a healthy Wentz from the conversation either.
He knows the system and played fine last season, although his stats don't tell the whole story.
McCarthy's future with the franchise has been a topic of debate all offseason, and now with the addition of Murray, coupled with Wentz returning, it is now a three-horse race, and one the Vikings hope J.J. wins.
The offseason is going to be a fascinating watch, with Minnesota's quarterback room taking center stage.
