Seahawks have three clear roster holes to fill after free agent losses

Coming off winning Super Bowl 60, the Seattle Seahawks, predictably, lost a lot of talented players to free agency. They did bring a few key players back, re-signing cornerback Josh Jobe and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed to three-year deals.

But, following the first week of free agency, the Seahawks still have to address some positions on their roster this offseason. Whether it's a free agent, trade, or draft pick, there are three positions that Seattle needs to address in the coming months.

According to ESPN's Brady Henderson, those three needs are clearly defined by their free agent losses. Seattle needs to find help at linebacker, running back, and cornerback.

Seahawks' biggest roster holes are thanks to departing free agents

Henderson revealed that the "Biggest remaining roster holes" for the Seahawks are "linebacker, cornerback, and running back."

At linebacker, the Seahawks let Boye Mafe, an outside linebacker, walk in free agency, as he signed on with the Cincinnati Bengals at $60 million over three years.

With DeMarcus Lawrence turning 34 this April, the team needs to find a long-term solution to their outside linebacker/pass rusher room.

Despite re-signing Jobe to a three-year deal, the Seahawks lost Riq Woolen to the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year, $15 million max-value deal that was a steal for the Eagles. His departure makes the Seahawks' need for another cornerback clear.

Lastly, and most notably, the Seahawks lost Kenneth Walker III to the Kansas City Chiefs on a three-year contract worth, at most, $45 million total.

They went out and signed Emmanuel Wilson, a free agent running back from the Green Bay Packers, to help bolster the RB depth chart.

But, with Zach Charbonnet coming off a playoff torn ACL, and George Holani and the rest of the depth chart being lackluster, the need for a running back is clear.

With all of their premium draft picks in the first three rounds, the Seahawks will have some options at all of these positions in each round of the draft.

John Schneider needs to find more help at outside linebacker, cornerback, and running back this offseason. However Schneider does it, the Seahawks need to address all three positions before 2026 if they want to have a chance to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
