As Cam Jordan remains unsigned, the [New Orleans Saints](https://www.nola.com/tncms/asset/editorial/8d24ff0a-ac07-4825-a89f-414c4c780672/) are bringing back another one of their pass rushers.

The Saints announced they re-signed defensive end Chris Rumph, the former Los Angeles Chargers edge who joined the team last season to reunite with defensive coordinator Brandon Staley.

The Saints did not announce the terms of Rumph's contract.

Rumph was a solid contributor, recording 47 tackles and two sacks. He played 30% of the defense's snaps, appearing in all 17 games. The 27-year-old, a 2021 fourth-round selection out of Duke, is entering his fifth NFL season.

The move comes as the Saints and Jordan have yet to agree on a new contract. The franchise's all-time sack leader, the 36-year-old Jordan said on a podcast with Terron Armstead this week that he understands the "business nature" of the NFL if he and the team end up parting ways.

Re-signing Rumph, in the meantime, adds to the Saints' pass-rushing rotation. Rumph often served as New Orleans' fourth pass rusher last season, spelling in for Chase Young, Carl Granderson or Jordan when needed.
