Commanders linked with star WR for Jayden Daniels

The Washington Commanders' offseason has been all about the defense, with the franchise landing a handful of key players.

But offensively, there are moves to be made, as Jayden Daniels needs some more weapons, and while on his rookie contract, the time is now to go all-in.

With only Terry McLaurin as the star of the show, more is needed, especially with Zach Ertz's injury, and Deebo Samuel might not return as well.

One name we have seen floated around is Brandon Aiyuk, and for ESPN's John Keim, the Commanders are well aware of Aiyuk's situation in San Francisco.

"One intriguing name could be San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk," Keim wrote. "Multiple team sources said Washington is well aware of Aiyuk's desire to play with Daniels. But Aiyuk remains under contract and the Commanders would be unlikely to trade for him or, when free, sign him to anything other than a one-year, prove-it deal."

Aiyuk a nice addition for Washington

Yes, there are question marks over how healthy Aiyuk will be and how long it will take him to get up to speed after missing the entire 2025 season. But is it worth a shot for Washington?

Absolutely, it is. Aiyuk wouldn't command a high price either, and having made it clear of his desire to play with Jayden, it just seems like a good fit.

Aiyuk, when fully healthy, was a menace on the field, posting back-to-back seasons of 1,000+ yards before injury struck. Having Aiyuk and McLaurin as your go-to weapons would give Daniels one of the better receiver tandems in football.

It's not the first time Aiyuk to Washington has come up and I bet it won't be the last, either.
