Last night’s controversial moment of Houston Rockets fans heckling Luka Doncic led to LeBron James sharing a wild photo of one of the fans today. Doncic revealed that his incredible fourth quarter performance was partially due to the Rockets fans getting under his skin with insulting comments and gestures. One incident featured a female fan flipping off the middle finger at Doncic during the fourth quarter.
LeBron shared the following photo with a few laughing emojis to reveal just how much Houston fans hated Luka:
The back-and-forth game featured two teams with similar records attempting to score an important victory for playoff seeding. Los Angeles Lakers had a tremendous fourth quarter comeback thanks to Doncic leading the way. Luka hit a couple of incredible shots late to put the game out of reach for the Rockets.
Houston suffered a brutal loss that broke the heart of their fans after two consecutive home losses to the Lakers. Kevin Durant was shut down for three quarters of the game to expose the Rockets’ current weaknesses. However, the biggest story coming out of the game was Luka revealing how much the Houston fans set him off to put the game out of reach.
Why LeBron Shared Photo Of Fan
The post-game interview from Doncic confirmed that he was motivated to win last night’s game and shut up fans heckling him. Luka’s history shows him loving to talk trash with others on the NBA court and in the stands if they are talking trash to him as well.
Doncic said the following about how last night’s fans upset him so much:
“I don’t know. Some guy was talking crazy, showing me his… Never mind. [I replied] off the camera. It was in English. I made sure he understood it. It was in the first quarter after I missed like the first four shots. Then he started talking, and I heard him. So, it was in the first quarter.”
The fan referenced by Luka was a different one than the photo LeBron showed. However, it revealed that multiple Rockets fans infuriated the Lakers superstar guard. Doncic remembered this fan talking in the first quarter and told him off in the fourth after securing the victory.
Luka’s Confidence Reaching New High With Lakers
Last season featured Doncic sharing the ball and face of the franchise duties with James too much to diminish his overall game. Austin Reaves becoming a bigger star over the past two seasons added a third name to share the ball with.
However, this season has shown Luka playing his game more by taking bold shots and not being afraid to get a little selfish on the court. Results show that Doncic playing like a superstar typically leads to more Lakers victories.
James is having fun too and showed it by sharing the photo on social media. Luka is one of the few players in NBA history to relate to LeBron since both have dealt with the pressure of being a face of the league. The Lakers hope this duo can contend for a deep playoff run before the offseason sees roster changes.
