Houston acquired Durant from the Phoenix Suns in a blockbuster seven-team deal last offseason.
It appears that frustrations and disappointments are already mounting across the Houston Rockets.

According to Ashish Mathur of Ahn Fire Digital, some members of the Houston organization have expressed regret about the franchise's decision to trade for Kevin Durant last offseason.
The Rockets have missed the team's special chemistry, culture and camaraderie from last season, and the vibes have gone “awkward and tense” around the team since the All-Star break, in which Durant's alleged critical burner account messages were exposed around the internet.
In order to acquire Durant, the Rockets pulled the trigger and sent Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green, the 10th pick of the 2025 Draft (Khaman Maluach) and five second-round picks to the Phoenix Suns in a blockbuster seven-team deal.
Durant is averaging 25.7 points in an efficient 51 percent shooting from the field across 65 games. But he and the Rockets have endured a season filled with ups and downs.
They are currently fifth in the Western Conference standings with a 41-27 record and are coming off back-to-back home losses against the Los Angeles Lakers.
