Phoenix Suns rookie forward Rasheer Fleming drove down the lane and slammed a dunk over San Antonio Spurs rookie forward Carter Bryant in Thursday’s loss.
The rookie on rookie poster dunk took place a few minutes into the second quarter to give the Suns a 10-point lead over the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

Fleming took a pass from Jalen Green and went to the hoop with force as Bryant came over in an attempt to contest the basket. Instead, Bryant found himself caught in the air.
The Suns’ rookie finished the first half with five points (2-of-2 shooting), two rebounds and a steal. Bryant finished the half with one rebound, one assist and one block.
Fleming added a 3-pointer in the second half, collected three more rebounds and two blocks. However, he also missed two pivotal free throws in the final minute of the game.
The rookie’s free throws kept the game within one point, allowing Victor Wembanyama to hit a game-winning jump shot with 1.1 seconds remaining in the game.
That sealed the Suns’ fate as Devin Booker threw up a prayer from beyond halfcourt that missed, and the Spurs won 101-100.
While Fleming missed the free throws and the Suns lost, his dunk over Bryant was still a highlight for the Suns on Thursday, and evidence their rookie is continuing to grow.
Phoenix drafted Fleming with the 31st pick in the second round of the 2025 draft. Fleming has played in 43 games this season, averaging 3.6 points of 40.3% shooting.
Bryant was drafted by the Spurs 14th-overall in 2025 out of the University of Arizona. He’s played 58 games this season, averaging 3.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
The former Arizona Wildcat was also the runner-up in the 2026 AT&T Slam Dunk contest.
