Manchester City were knocked out the Champions League by Real Madrid earlier this week
Manchester City’s struggles in Europe under Pep Guardiola have been questioned by ex-Premier League player Danny Murphy. City have won one Champions League in 10 years. They were knocked out of the competition by Real Madrid earlier this week.

“He’s done so much good and he’s such a wonderful coach and done so many innovative, brilliant things. I mean, I don’t know why he’s so miserable.”
Guardiola’s contract at City expires in 2027 meaning he still has another year left to run. The ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich man made the switch to England back in 2016 and has since won everything. It remains to be seen at this stage who will come in as his replacement when he eventually heads out the exit door for a change of scene.
The former Spain international may fancy one more crack at the Champions League in the final year of his deal. His team won it back in 2023 after they beat Inter Milan 1-0 in the final in Istanbul. Rodri scored their winner in Turkey in the second-half.
