Arsenal and Chelsea are said to have sent a scout to watch a top attacker this week.

Arsenal and Chelsea have both reportedly sent scouts to watch a superstar striker this week. The Gunners and Chelsea are likely to have very different summer transfer window, with the two London clubs having different needs, even if they could cross over.

Arsenal are going to be fine-tuning with any summer business, looking at where they can improve a squad that already has incredible depth. In fact, much of their business could be replacing non-starters who are lured away with the promise of starting elsewhere.

Mikel Arteta could yet sign a new striker, but there would have to be a departure or two up top this summer. As for Chelsea, they need polished options at this stage and to pivot - even if only partly - from their policy from only signing young players with big potential.

The Blues could do with a seasoned striker to challenge Joao Pedro and a top centre-back amid consistent issues at the back.

The former Manchester City striker scored, and that made it 17 goals across all competitions this season. He also has eight assists, continuing to impress.

Arsenal chief Andrea Berta signed Alvarez for Atletico, but Chelsea may hold a financial advantage, with the striker likely to command a huge transfer fee if he is to be sold this summer. There has already been a report of an asking price of £129million, and while that may be inflated, the actual fee is still likely to be above £100million.
