What time is the England squad announcement, leaks so far, including Kobbie Mainoo, will Max…

Ahead of friendlies against Uruguay and Japan at Wembley, Thomas Tuchel is set to announce England’s squad.

When 16-year old Max Dowman came on in the 74th minute for Arsenal during their match against Everton, nobody thought that he would completely change the game, but that’s exactly what he did and won the game for them. After the match, Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports that “But his deep cross forced the chaos - and the goal - that broke open that game late on, scored by Viktor Gyokeres. It was audacious for someone of his age. "It's not only the goal that he scored. I think he changed the game.”

Ahead of friendlies against Uruguay and Japan at Wembley, Thomas Tuchel is set to name the England squad and there has been speculation that Max Dowman might be included. Arsenal legend Perry Groves told talkSport that “If I was Thomas Tuchel I would get him training with England next week so he can have a look at him and see what he’s like.

"Because in a squad of 26 there’s always 2 or 3 players who have no chance of playing, you can have a left-back who’s just there for cover but I’d rather take someone like Max Dowman if I was a manager.

"He can play with that freedom so in tight games he could go turn it around.

"So if he gets more minutes throughout the season, I wouldn’t rule it out that he could be in the England squad and he could be the next Theo Walcott.”
