Chelsea may have to start drawing up potential replacements for Enzo Fernandez.
Following Chelsea’s 3-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, Fernandez did not rule out an exit this summer.
The midfielder will be hard to replace, but there are a few names out there who look like suitable candidates to succeed him.

Leon Goretzka an ideal replacement for Enzo Fernandez
In terms of profile, Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka and Fernandez share some similarities.
Like Fernandez, Goretzka is capable of making late runs into the box and scoring goals. In the past, he has even been compared to Frank Lampard for doing such.
Assessing both his and Fernandez’s game, though, the German is definitely stronger and more physical. It makes him ideal for a division such as the Premier League.

What is also appealing about Goretzka is the fact that he is set to become a free agent in the summer, while the Germany international is now 31 years of age.
Goretzka can add the kind of experience Chelsea’s squad has been lacking.
Chelsea’s recruitment under Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart has not been good enough. It has left fans far from happy, but the addition of a seasoned midfielder like Goretzka is likely to be welcomed.
European football expert Andy Brassell also thinks that Goretzka could be a good match for the Blues.
Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “I think you’re getting 10, 12 goals a season out of him. If you can unlock that side to him, again, he’s tough, he can handle himself, he can do the defensive side of the game as well.”
Brassell later went on to add: “I’d like him for Arsenal, I’d like him for Man United, I’d like him for Chelsea, especially if they end up losing Enzo Fernandez. We’ll have to see what happens there.”

The likelihood is that Fernandez will remain at Stamford Bridge. With a contract until 2032, the World Cup winner’s future is in Chelsea’s hands.
If they are open to a sale, though, Goretzka should be at the top of their list of potential replacements.
In terms of where he could go, Real Madrid are thought to be Fernandez’s preference. Manchester City and PSG have also been linked with the Argentina international, so he could have options this summer.
