Abdul Fatawu is admired by Everton as the Toffees line up potential reinforcements in the summer transfer window.
David Moyes is said to be a huge fan of the Ghana international – according to the Liverpool Echo – as Everton consider upgrades in the wide attacking areas.
Dwight McNeil is expected to leave this summer after coming close to joining Crystal Palace in February, while Tyler Dibling is yet to impress at the Hill Dickinson Stadium following his £40m move from Southampton in August 2025.
If the Toffees can wrap up a deal for Fatawu this summer, the move would presumably please former Everton striker Gary Lineker after what he said about the Leicester No.7 in October 2024.
Will TFG have to move away from Moyes to achieve their recruitment model? 😬
Dan Friedkin.
Gary Lineker likened Everton target Abdul Fatawu to Bukayo Saka
As the 22-year-old impressed for Leicester in the 2024/25 campaign, the man who made 53 appearances for Everton told The Rest Is Football podcast: “He’ll beat people, he’s quick, he’ll take people on, he’ll cut inside and bend one in the top corner, he’ll go down the outside and cross the ball. He’s a little bit like Saka in that way.
“I’m not going to say he’s as good as Saka, but he’s only 19. He’s got an incredible work ethic, got a lovely personality. He’s a real character and everyone at Leicester knows that.”

Moyes could certainly use a livewire for the right flank to mirror what Iliman Ndiaye provides on the left, and the Glaswegian would get that in Fatawu.
The man born in Tamale has impressively scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 37 Championship appearances for Leicester so far this season.
Leicester may even be relegated to League One after being hit with a deduction of six points in February.
Which of these players do you want to see Everton SIGN in 2026?

If that does happen, it would presumably result in Fatawu looking for a way out of the King Power Stadium – where he is contracted until July 2029 – potentially making a deal quite simple for Everton.
