Former England and AC Milan manager Fabio Capello has questioned Liam Rosenior’s coaching methods following Chelsea’s 3-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite the tie being effectively over and with just minutes left to go in the match on Tuesday night, Rosenior was seen writing down a note for Alejandro Garnacho, who was asked to hand it to a teammate. Capello said he couldn’t believe what he saw:

“He’s out of his mind. He did something that will make the players laugh. That’s what they think.”

“You saw his [Garnacho’s] face when he entered the pitch with that note; he was like: ‘What are you saying to me’?”

“When you do smart things, you are involved, but when you do something like that, how are you involving somebody?”

Has Rosenior lost the dressing room already?

Capello is seemingly suggesting that the Blues head coach will be the subject of mockery among the squad, but the Daily Mail claim that the players very much like him as a person.

However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they respect Rosenior as a coach and that they agree with his tactical instructions. Buy a Chelsea shirt from Fanatics UK here.

Are Chelsea considering whether to sack Rosenior?

At the moment, the 41-year-old has the full backing of Clearlake. They already know him well from his time at Strasbourg, and they are not expected to abandon him quickly.

However, as we have seen with the likes of Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino and Enzo Maresca, they are not averse to making swift U-turns.

While it seems likely that Rosenior will be given until the end of the season, there will be big question marks about his future if he doesn’t secure a top 5 finish.
