Bills predicted to trade Keon Coleman to NFC team.

The Buffalo Bills made a splash to acquire D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears, and now the team could look to trade away a wide receiver.

Buffalo has some major question marks at wide receiver, and the future of Keon Coleman is one of the big questions. The former second-round pick hasn’t panned out, and last season, he was inactive due to missing team meetings.

Now, as Coleman’s name has come up in trade rumors, NFL analyst Mike Kadlick of Sports Illustrated predicts Buffalo will trade the receiver to the New Orleans Saints.

“It would make sense for the Bills to go one wide receiver in, one wide receiver out on the trade market this offseason,” Kadlick wrote. “After acquiring DJ Moore (and a 2025 fifth-round pick) from the Bears in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick earlier this month, Josh Allen and new head coach Joe Brady—who notably worked with Moore from 2020 to ‘21 while serving as the Panthers’ offensive coordinator—have their first top-tier wide receiver to work with since the days of Stefon Diggs.

“Meanwhile, Keon Coleman, who Buffalo selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft, has failed to make an impact over the past two seasons. And, he may be in need of a reset. Enter the Saints, who could use a developmental No. 2 target behind Chris Olave for second-year quarterback Tyler Shough to work and grow with. Outside of the aforementioned Olave, New Orleans’ leading receiver last season was tight end Juwan Johnson. Followed by Rashid Shaheed, who was traded to Seattle at the deadline.”

In return for Coleman, Buffalo would likely get a mid-to-late round pick. It would be a much-needed change of scenery for the disgruntled receiver.

Bills Owner Called out Coleman

Following Buffalo’s elimination by the Denver Broncos, Bills owner Terry Pegula called out Coleman.

Coleman was expected to be a key part of the Bills’ offense in his second year. But he had some off-the-field issues. So, after another disappointing season, Pegula made it clear Coleman wasn’t someone that general manager Brandon Beante wanted to draft.

“I’ll address the Keon situation. The coaching staff pushed to draft Keon,” Pegula said. “I’m not saying Brandon wouldn’t have drafted him, but [Coleman] wasn’t his next choice. That was Brandon being a team player and taking advice of his coaching staff who felt strongly about the player. And you know, he’s taken — for some reason — heat over it, and not saying a word about it. But I’m here to tell you the true story.”

Coleman had a frustrating 2025 NFL season, and his future in the NFL and with the Bills is very much in the air.

Joe Brady Has Confidence in Coleman

Although Coleman had his struggles, new Bills head coach Joe Brady gave the receiver some confidence.

Brady said he was the coach that wanted Coleman and believes him being the head coach will be good for the young receiver.

“I told Keon when I got hired, the best thing that happened to Keon Coleman was me being his head coach,” Brady said. “I was one of the ones that stood on the table for Keon Coleman, and I believe in Keon Coleman.”

Coleman finished the year recording just 38 receptions for 404 yards and 4 touchdowns.
