Despite Chelsea’s embarrassing exit from the Champions League at the hands of PSG this week, Inter Milan sent a club chief to keep an eye on one of the Blues players.
Liam Rosenior named a bold starting XI to complete an unlikely turnaround, however was made to pay for that risk when Mamadou Sarr made a mistake to allow the opening goal of the second leg.
Even Chelsea’s highly-rated midfield was dominated at Stamford Bridge. Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez were joined by Andrey Santos.

Inter Milan chief watched Andrey Santos during Chelsea vs PSG
Santos received praise from the French media for his performance, and there was also Italian interest in his display on Wednesday night.
Journalist Mateo Barzaghi has claimed on hs YouTube channel that Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausillo was in attendance to observe Santos in action.
He said: “Ausilio was in London watching matches, not just for Vicario. Also because the transfer window is closed – you can’t reach an agreement now, only start outlining a deal that can take shape once the registration lists reopen.

“It seems to me that Tottenham are also looking to make changes. He’s been heavily criticised, even though the other night he was the best player on the pitch.
“Ausilio watched Chelsea vs Paris Saint-Germain and paid special attention to Andrey Santos, the Brazilian midfielder we’ve already discussed, although he would be very expensive – so midfield is still uncertain.”
The quality in the Chelsea midfield when everyone is fit is astonishing. Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo both look as if they can make a genuine impact before the end of the season.

Chelsea’s stance on Andrey Santos
The Serie A side are not the only club to be credited with interest in Chelsea’s promising young midfielder.
Manchester United have been linked with Santos, with numerous sides keen on a deal before he had even played a Premier League game for them.
However, Chelsea are insistent Santos is not available for a transfer, with him one of the crown jewels of the club’s transfer policy.
Rosenior is of the belief that Santos is an elite player, and will certainly not be keen to see him leave the club anytime soon.
