KC Concepcion #7 of the Texas A&M Aggies looks on before the 2025 College Football Playoff First Round Game against the Miami Hurricanes.

The Denver Broncos could help elevate quarterback Bo Nix’s game by leaning even more into what he does best, and Kevin “KC” Concepcion could certainly help with that.

Concepcion has been one of the stars during the predraft process.

The Broncos made a splashy move, acquiring Jaylen Waddle in a trade with the Miami Dolphins, but that has not dissuaded them from checking into Concepcion in a potential move that would have significant implications for the rest of the wide receiver room.

The Broncos were among the teams that “Commanding The Huddle” host Ryan Fowler reported Concepcion “has visits scheduled with.” Concepcion, a 6-foot, 196-pound wideout, has a skill set that fits what Nix does well.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein noted Concepcion’s “immediate burst and separation into space.” He added that Concepcion is “extremely difficult to match at leveraged break points.”

Zierlein compared him to two-time Super Bowl champion and Pro Bowler Doug Baldwin.

“He’s elusive in beating press and getting into breaks with minimum damage from handsy coverage. While he has a one-speed approach, he can snap off routes with alarming suddenness,” Zierlein wrote in his pre-draft profile on Concepcion.

“Instinctive against zone. He’s also a nightmare for man coverage on choice routes and near the goal line. He’s quicker than fast, with more value on utility throws utilizing run after catch. Concepcion’s ability to quickly uncover should be very appealing to teams with spotty protection and a young quarterback.”

The Athletic ranked Concepcion as the fourth-best WR in the class and the 22nd-best prospect.

“An urgent, gliding athlete, Concepcion isn’t all the way there yet, but he has come a long way with his route running and routinely creates separation,” The Athletic’s Dane Brugler wrote in February.

“He isn’t the most natural hands-catcher (10.3 percent drop rate in 2025), although he will benefit in the NFL from having a more receiver-friendly quarterback.”

The Broncos’ interest in Concepcion stands out for many reasons.

That includes their lack of a first-round pick, where he is projected to land, following the trade for Waddle. Naturally, then, the news has raised eyebrows among the base amid their current roster setup.

Among other factors that the Broncos must overcome, the Dolphins, Carolina Panthers (Concepcion is from the area), and the Tennessee Titans also have meetings scheduled with Concepcion.

Bo Nix’s Game Under The Microscope

Waddle joins Broncos Pro Bowler and perennial team captain Courtland Sutton at the top of the pecking order. Veteran Lil’Jordan Humphrey and recent draft picks Marvin Mims, Pat Bryant, and Troy Franklin are all vying to fill in behind them.

Still, there are questions about whether there is room for Concepcion in the Broncos’ offense.

Nix led the NFL in overall pass attempts. Per Pro Football Focus, Nix threw the vast majority of his passes within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage at 43.8% for the Broncos in 2025.

But Nix was 15th among quarterbacks with at least 100 such attempts and who started at least 10 games. There were, notably, three more QBs with at least nine games played and one more with eight.

With Waddle in the mix, that significant portion of those throws will go to him.

Broncos Have Several Mouths to Feed

Waddle and Sutton will both be downfield threats, despite their differing body types and playing styles. Sutton will have a big role as a chain mover. The other wideouts will fill in as needed.

Then, the Broncos have tight ends Adam Trautman and Evan Engram, and could add to that group. RJ Harvey had a noteworthy role as a pass-catcher out of the backfield as a rookie and figures to reprise it with starter J.K. Dobbins re-signing in free agency.

Adding Concepcion would be intriguing for the Broncos, but also unlikely for myriad reasons.
