The New York Giants will have the fifth overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. There are some glaring holes on the roster. New York needs help on the offensive line, the defensive line, and other places as well.

With John Harbaugh as the new head coach, he wants players that will fit for his system. General manager Joe Schoen is still around in the Giants front office, but he may not have as much of a say in personnel like he used to.

It is mock draft season. There are a lot of mock drafts going on before the 2026 NFL Draft takes place. Dan Duggan of the Athletic has the Giants selecting Ohio State Buckeyes linebacker Sonny Styles fifth overall. He said, “With no interest from teams looking to trade up, the Giants had to stick at No. 5. There were plenty of appealing options on the board, but no slam-dunk pick. Styles emerged as the selection because of his combination of talent, potential and fit. The Giants can put Styles next to veteran Tremaine Edmunds in the middle to significantly upgrade their run defense.”
Styles is 6’4″ and weighs 243 lbs. He recorded 83 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one interception, and three pass deflections. Styles would be a good choice for the Giants because they just released Bobby Okereke. He had a very good scouting combine and Styles has been projected to potentially go in the top five to New York also.
