The Baltimore Ravens have had one of the NFL’s most feared ground attacks with Derrick Henry leading the way. Add in Lamar Jackson’s elite playmaking ability with his legs and the rushing game has been strong for the team.

With that being said, Henry isn’t getting any younger.

Entering the 2026 NFL season, the superstar running back will be 32 years old. He is coming off of a 2025 season where he carried the football 307 times for 1,595 yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging 5.2 yards per carry.

Age hasn’t become an issue for Henry just yet. However, that could change at any point. The Ravens could consider looking for a long-term replacement in the near future.

Keeping that in mind, a new prediction has been shared for Baltimore that could lead to being Henry’s replacement.

Baltimore Ravens Land Surprising Running Back Prediction

The Athletic has released a new beat writers mock draft. In that mock draft, the Ravens were predicted to land Notre Dame standout running back Jeremiyah Love.

Love sliding all the way to pick No. 14 would be a shock. There are many who are projecting him to be a top-five pick with just over a month remaining until the draft arrives. Should he slip that far, Baltimore would face a tough decision.

There are other needs that the Ravens could focus on. Passing on the opportunity to draft Love could end up being a major mistake.

Here is what Jeff Zrebiec, the Ravens’ beat writer for The Athletic, had to say about the suggested pick.

“Remember the last time the Ravens were picking at 14 and one of the best players in the draft fell into their laps because of positional value? That was Kyle Hamilton in 2022, and I’d say taking the best player available in that draft worked out pretty well for the Ravens,” Zrebiec wrote.

“Love, another ex-Notre Dame standout, is too good to resist. Derrick Henry is 32, and the Ravens don’t have his successor on the roster. Love is a home run hitter who will bring juice to an offense that will have a new look with Declan Doyle directing the show.”

What Would the Ravens Be Getting in Jeremiyah Love?

Over the last couple of years at Notre Dame, Love has been a superstar. Last season, he was one of the top contenders to win the coveted Heisman Trophy.

Throughout the course of the 2025 season with the Fighting Irish, Love racked up 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns on 199 carries. He averaged an impressive 6.9 yards per attempt. Love also caught 27 passes for 280 yards and three more touchdowns.

Standing in at 6-foot-0 and 214 pounds, Love has a similar running style to Henry. He may not be as physically intimidating, but he’s a hard runner with big-play ability.

If there was a perfect replacement for a running back like Henry, it would be Love. Having a chance to draft him at No. 14 would be a dream scenario for Baltimore, although fans shouldn’t expect to see this scenario become a reality.
