Report: Steelers Met With Temple WR, Utah State RB At Pro Days

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hard at work analyzing prospects for the upcoming draft. They’ve got a lot of picks, which is good, but it also means they’ve got to work even harder through the pre-draft process. While they upgraded at several positions in free agency, they still have several weaknesses.

That includes wide receiver. However, they’ve shown interest in many receiver prospects. That includes Temple’s Kajiya Hollawayne. Packer Report’s Easton Butler shared on Twitter that Hollawayne met with all 32 teams at his Pro Day, but his conversation with the Steelers was one that stood out.

Hollawayne is another big-bodied receiver, listed at 6’4” and over 200 pounds. He’s bounced around a lot in his collegiate career, too, starting as a quarterback at UCLA in 2021, going to Grambling State in 2022, and then transferring to Riverside Community College in 2023.

While Hollawayne didn’t have much success to start his career, he started to catch on at Riverside, catching 22 passes for 425 yards and three touchdowns.

Then, he transferred again in 2024, this time to Temple. His time there started off quiet, only catching nine passes for 120 yards. However, he was much better last season, recording 39 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns.

Hollawayne figures to be a late-round pick, if he gets drafted at all, but he could be a fun project. The Steelers already have two big receivers in DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr., so they could add Hollawayne as a developmental piece.

Also, Butler reported that the Steelers met with Utah State running back Miles Davis at his Pro Day. Like Hollawayne, Davis took time to get going in college. He started out at BYU, spending five seasons there. He ran for 468 yards and two touchdowns during his time there, only registering one start.

However, he was much more effective in 2025 at Utah State. Davis carried the ball 131 times for 731 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 5.6 yards per attempt. Also, he caught 28 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns. It was a nice end to Davis’ long collegiate career.

Davis is another prospect that will likely get taken late on Day 3 if he gets drafted. However, he could be another interesting player to try and develop. They already have one former Utah State running back on the team in Jaylen Warren. He’s had a successful career despite going undrafted, and perhaps Davis’ will follow a similar path.
