The Minnesota Vikings needed to address their offensive tackle depth this offseason because the offensive line fell apart last season when Christian Darrisaw and Brian O’Neill combined to miss ten games due to injuries and 21 games over the past two years. Justin Skule served as the swing tackle and allowed 29 pressures and seven sacks across nine starts. Skule remains unsigned, and Walter Rouse is currently the next man up, with only 88 career snaps.

Buffalo Bills, Ryan Van Demark
Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Ryan Van Demark (74) looks up at the Jumbotron to watch the play during second half action at the Bills home game against the New York Jets at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Dec. 29, 2024.
The Vikings signed restricted free agent offensive tackle Ryan Van Demark to a one-year, fully guaranteed $4.2 million offer sheet, giving the Buffalo Bills five days to match. He has served as Buffalo’s swing tackle over the past two seasons, logging 511 total snaps, including 137 at LT and 372 at RT across six starts. Since the Bills placed a right-of-first-refusal tender on Van Demark, if they choose not to match the offer sheet, the Vikings do not need to cough up draft compensation.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Bills will not match Ryan Van Demark’s offer sheet. Therefore, he will be a member of the Vikings next season on a one-year, fully guaranteed $4.2 million deal. Once Van Demark completes his fourth accrued season, he will become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
