Chelsea already have two centre-backs on their books that they think are very good

Chelsea fans have portioned plenty of blame of late at the centre-backs at the club, although the club are very high on two players in that position.

Blues supporters are frequently told about the potential some of their young players, however when given the chance in the first team they flatter to deceive.

Mamadou Sarr made his first Chelsea Champions League start against PSG, however made a significant error to put an end to their unlikely chances at a comeback.

Where does Fikayo Tomori rank among Chelsea’s current centre-backs?🤔

Chelsea are really keen on Levi Colwill and Aaron Anselmino

The Blues have been without Levi Colwill all season, and this has clearly been a massive issue due to how highly he is rated at the club.

Journalist Simon Johnson has claimed on Reddit that while the Blues are really keen on Colwill, they are also massive fans of Aaron Anselmino.

He said: “A centre-back is on their wishlist for the summer. But don’t forget Colwill will return and he is very highly valued within the club. I think we will see a few sales at cb too. The club like Anselmino a lot too but unfortunately injuries are holding his progress back.”

When it comes to potential sales at centre-back, it is likely that Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile and Tosin Adarabioyo will be at the front of the queue as far as the club are concerned.

Aaron Anselmino’s frustrating 2025/26 season

Anselmino was well liked at Borussia Dortmund before Chelsea ended his loan move in Germany in January in favour of continuing his development at Strasbourg.

It was reported that Chelsea did not like Dortmund making plans to sign Anselmino permanently, and they were looking for a replacement for Mamadou Sarr as he made his move to Stamford Bridge.

Since his move to France, the Argentine has hardly featured in Ligue 1, with Strasbourg having big ambitions domestically and in the Conference League.

Despite being part of the Chelsea squad on a couple of occasions now, it looks as if there is still going to be a bit of a wait until Chelsea fans can see the promising talent they have been told good things about.
